Stat - I was reviewing this site relative to CQ's and again noted your 4-7-08 post regarding fidelity testing. What CQ's have you used that are the most beneficial in fidelity tests? Thanks. END..... IP: Logged |

Sorry for my delayed response---i get to lurk on this site about every other day. When I ran fidelity tests, it was the first 2 years of my polygraph career. To be honest, I don't feel very confident in those early tests----having not made treks to meet and brainpick some more talented and savvy examiners----examiners that didn't care much for the domestic modality and nearly if not completely sold me against doing them.I recall mistakingly using behavior controls such as "before your marriage to dumby, have you ever engaged in sexual behavior that could bring shame to you? and In the future, would you cheat on dumby even if you were certain that you would never be caught?---and others like--Since marrying dumby, have you ever been flooded with thoughts of betraying him/her? (some of those examples aren't typed exact given variations in timebars and whatnot.) Some of those (if not all) questions are less than fabulous (IMO) I would also use the standard lie controls---lying about lies, and lying to get outa trouble or conflict. Why do you ask? Am I in trouble? I haven't the time to look at the post you refer right now. IP: Logged |

I think that standard comparison questions involving Lie cheat and steal or Sexual issue comparisons both work and it really depends on how you formulate your relevant questions. If your R is Did you have sexual intercourse with ________? use sexual comparisons. If your R is Did you cheat on your spouse with ______? use lie cheat or steal. As with any test, try to stay away from preplanned or canned comparison questions. Try to let your pre test interview point you in the right direction. If you haven't done any of these tests, I'd like to offer one observation. I have yet to see a fidelity test that helped restore a damaged relationship or change anyones belief but the examiners concerning whether or not a spouse is being faithful. I tell potential customers that before any money changes hands. After that if they still want the exam, I'll do the best I can. ------------------ Ex scientia veritas IP: Logged |

Hello Stat -I received a request for a fidelity exam and I seek as much feedback as possible to assist me in structuring a solid exam. Counseling was suggested. I suspect you jokingly ask if you're "in trouble." If not, relax, I'm not aware of any issues in which you are involved Even though I have what I believe is substantial experience behind me, I always appreciate any information that helps me structure the best test/exam possible.
